Inan interview with the Wall Street Journal, Fisher was asked by reporter Michael Calia about the controversy over merchandise made of the “Slave Leia” costume she wore as Jabba's prisoner in “Return of the Jedi.” “I think it's stupid,” she told him.

The fan community has largely been supportive of renaming the costume to “Huttslayer” and minimizing its use in merchandising, and Lucasfilm and Disney have seemed to agree. But one father took umbrage with the costume because of its revealing nature, and Fisher had choice words for him over his conundrum of what to tell his children about why Princess Leia was dressed that way. “Tell them that a giant slug captured me and forced me to wear that stupid outfit, and then I killed him because I didn't like it. And then I took it off. Backstage.”

There are few things more iconic in “Star Wars” than Princess Leia's double-bun hairstyle and her sometimes humorless demeanor. When asked by the press about whether or not Princess Leia had a sense of humor to match hers, Fisher brought her new hairstyle into the conversation.

“[Princess Leia] would have to [have a sense of humor]. Wearing those hair pieces? You know, I do have now a baboon ass hairstyle. I mean that with love. You need a sense of humor for that sort of thing. It keeps it lively, fun. You're getting shot at and everything. No, it's the hair that really makes you funny.”

“Star Wars” has come to be known for its iconic costumes, and Princess Leia was always a stylish but utilitarian dresser. At a press conference in Los Angeles, California, questions were brought up about her costumes in the new film.

“I have a kind of classy gas station attendant look,” Fisher said to the laughter of the rest of the cast and the entire press corps. “That's not funny. Look at it. Or I could say I was an airplane repair person with a nice vest over that. And different hair than most airplane mechanics would normally have. I don't mean the baboon ass hair, it's the other. The end.”

Carrie Fisher never travels alone. With her at almost all times is Gary Fisher, her dog. At the world press conference,Fisher almost walked out in a spat with J.J. Abrams over her dog.

Though it doesn't appear as though Gary was allowed on the set of “The Force Awakens,” he had a chair right beside her when she spoke to "Good Morning America." He's made appearances at comic book conventions with her, and she tweets about him often, but the press tour for “The Force Awakens” has made him a superstar.Some fanshave even asked for a Gary action figure.

Fisher's antics with Gary are almost as fun as watching a “Star Wars” movie.

As a well-known script doctor and writer of cutting, witty screenplays including “Postcards From the Edge” (based on her novel of the same name), Carrie Fisher knows her way around a sarcastic remark. Her press tour has been full of sharp one liners and brilliant timing. When Lupita Nyong'o was asked about her character, Maz Kanata, having any sort of relationship with Yoda, Fisher leaned in and explained succinctly, “It's sexual.”

When asked if she could talk about bringing the girl power to the classic trilogy, she responded with a perfectly timed blink and then, simply, “No.”

Eventually she relented and offered an even better, funnier answer. “I am the beginning of girl power. Deal with it! I got to be the only girl on the all boy set, which was really fun, you know, to put things in their drinks and stuff like that. We drank through the whole trilogy, in the beginning. This was a sober set, so that's what J.J. brought to this, was sobriety.

"Girl power? No, that's what was really fun about doing anything that is girl power-esque, is bossing men around. I know a lot of you women out there haven't done that yet and I encourage you to do so ... later this afternoon.”

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” comes out Dec. 18, 2015. Carrie Fisher will be back as Princess Leia.
